TORREY'S WAVE OF THE WINTER
And just like that, Torrey is back! No question about it.
If you've been following closely you might have noticed a little tape job on Mr. Meister's front ankle through the end of the 2019 season and its reappearance during some of the early/larger swells of 2020.
With this wave, we think it's a pretty safe bet that the ankle is doing just fine. Air dropping into an absolute backdoor behemoth like this takes everything you've got. Any reservations and "ya done."
What do you think? Is Torrey's backdoor bomb going to take the top spot in this year's O'neill Wave of the Winter?
When it comes to striking a hurricane swell, timing is everything. Anxiety stirred as Hurricane Dorian made its way up the Eastern Seaboard. The crew analyzed swell and wind charts from Cape Hatteras to Nova Scotia, hoping to make the right call. As we paced back and forth, Team O’Neill legend and East Coast specialist Cory Lopez finally gave the thumbs up to book our flights and head to New Jersey. The Strike Mission was on.
