But given Gray is as fond of treacherous waves as he is perfect waves (not always one in the same), combining the two experiences into one tight clip proved irresistible to the world's most gregarious tube junkie. When it's this good, P-Pass is one wave to rule them all.

Brett Barley getting shacked in ice barrels. "I set up my Soloshot 2 on the beach, changed into my 5/4mm Wetsuit, 7mm Boots, & 5mm Gloves, and paddled out for a 5hr session till dark. Though not very big, it was perfect. For 5hrs I paddled, surfed, ran up the beach, and repeated, over and over again… Until i was the last guy in the water, and the last car out of the parking lot. Nothing beats that feeling."

"It was obvious that this storm was the biggest of winter thus far," Alex Gray said. "I mean, it literally covered the entire Pacific. With the focus on Hawaii, I had hopes of sneaking away to P-Pass under the radar. I asked Wassel's opinion and he said "bigger than our last December's swell." Dorian simply said "it's going to be nutso." Their opinions were more than enough to ask Body Glove if I could go do a Turkeymelt webisode and book a ticket. Well, the swell exceeded all expectations. Everyone had the session and waves of their lives. I kept paddling back out screaming "is this really happening?!" Five hours of huge, bionic, gut-wrenching barrels. Sometimes when you throw it all on the line, everything comes together. I'm officially the luckiest human in the world!"
