Dare (To Get Barreled) County

Like a lot of the East Coast, the Outer Banks has been pumping with surf for, like, a month straight. And with the water still quite warm, and the storms at a relatively safe distance, everyone wanted a piece. This is what happened once the deck got stacked with aces.

PTC10 Goes Low' with Brett Barley

We've come to rely on Brett Barley's uncanny work ethic once fall comes around on the East Coast. Consistent with his edits, quick with his reports, and impressive with his surfing -- few people do Hurricane Season better than Barley. Here's what happened when PTC10 (Potential Tropical Cyclone #10) met favorable beach nourishment in Hatteras last week.

Layback hacks with OAM'S Michel Bourez.

This How-To episode demonstrates one of the most blatant displays of force in performance surfing: the frontside layback hack. Set yourself up for the right section, and lay on the PSI (Pressure Per Square Inch). “Layback carves are fun because there’s really no limit,” adds Bourez. “The harder you push, the better it looks.”

Aspiration Attained with Brett Barley.

"If you're curious what it's like to finally go to a place you've been dreaming of for 10yrs, and score the best waves of your life, at the worlds longest barreling left point.... Then hit Play and enjoy 14minutes of an Experience of a Lifetime!

If you're looking for a quick hit of barrel action in a short edit, continue scrolling the page. This edit is meant to be a journey, showing the feelings one goes through in preparing for, and partaking in, the best surf trip they've ever experienced.

I first heard of Skeleton Bay back in 2007, and had been dreaming of surfing it ever since. It appeared so perfect, so flawless, so easy, that you were guaranteed the wave of your life as soon as you drop in. ... I was wrong about most of that. It sure can be perfect, but it is a very difficult wave to surf, and even harder to score since it rarely ever breaks.

I won't say too much here.... But Skeleton Bay is my favorite wave in the world, and going there for the first time was so incredible, I wanted to try and bring that experience back with me to share with all of you.

So grab a snack, sit back, and enjoy the barrel visions, the wipeouts that aren't talked about as much, and the joys of finally crossing off a bucket list surf trip."
